Now install the back slats. To get the right look, proper spacing of the slats is important. Start with the center slat, placing it dead center in the back. I used four screws for each back slat, inserting one in the bottom, then made sure the top was positioned properly, then I secured it with three more. Be careful drilling the screw holes and countersink for the upper crosspiece as these must be done on an angle, drilling straight into the crosspiece, but at an angle to the back slat.

3. If you can’t determine what kind of plastic your furniture is, then it’s best not to try to recycle it, because doing so could lead to contamination of other recyclable plastics.
The cost of Adirondack chair kits will vary according to the type of kit, the size of the chair, and the materials used to construct the chair. Wood is the most common material used for chair construction, though composite materials are available as well to make the chair lower maintenance. Plastic chairs are also available, and these are usually lightweight and more resistant to weather damage. Higher-end wood can be used for chair construction; and these chairs will be visually appealing but much more expensive. Here are other brands/types at Costco.com for a bit less, but none are blue. (Costco has a different white chair in the stores now, for only $129.99 per chair. Made by "Leisure Line") Thank you for this. I ordered the polywood set that comes with the table. I guess it costs more than the white one in store but reviews are great and there’s also a 20 year warranty. Fingers crossed! Thank you for this. I ordered the polywood set that comes with the table. I don’t know about you but I’ll be spending a good chunk of the summer in our backyard. I can just see myself with a (sometimes adult) beverage in hand watching my kiddos play. It is like a dream…until I realized that there’s no great place to sit! Ya see, we’ve had these disgusting plastic Adirondack chairs for years that leave a white chalky mark on your bee-hind.

All screw holes should be pre-drilled for a couple reasons; to prevent splitting by drilling a pilot hole and to countersink sufficiently to accept a wood plug later. The plug not only helps the appearance of the chair, but will also add to the chair’s durability. We used a bit that drilled the hole and counterbored for the plug in the same operation.
