The main purpose of using an Adirondack chair because of the comfort it serves. And for this comfort to be fully served, you need your body in the right position.
Notice our ugly carpeted porch in this picture? A future project is to replace the deck and add a railing in. But that’s for another day. .
Working with Abram was fun, to be sure. But I spent years working in commercial shops building hundreds of projects while working with others. And while Abram is a celebrity, his pleasant personality and easygoing manner made me feel right at home, too.

For the past few years, we have had a pair of Adirondack chairs in the yard. They are made of teak I believe and have become very wobbly and rickety over time. Last Spring they looked like this:
Wood is susceptible to damage from prolonged exposure to water and sunlight. The first step to protecting your wood adirondack chairs is a preventative step; always cover or store your chairs (in a dry place) when they are not in use. This will prevent any damage and cut down on your maintenance work.
Set up the two sides on the bench and first attach the lower rear crosspiece. When that’s in place, turn the work over and fasten the front crosspiece. Use a pair of screws for each connection placing them about 3⁄4” from the edges of the board.

We have about 10 of these chairs with tables at our Lake house and they all eventually split, crack, etc. I tried every thing including Gorilla, Crazy, and any other glue, duct tape, etc. I now put a towel over chair to cover cracked part and "Forget about it". My husband saw the chairs for $12. at a local hardware store up at the lake house so when the towels wear out we will just spring for the new chair. Good luck and let me know if you have had any success with your repair efforts,
