When nozzle is placed too close to the plastic it could chew/fray the plastic leaving a fuzzy look to the plastic and allowing atmospheric dirt and particles to get inside the plastic. Drill 1⁄4″ holes through the side members and front leg to accept stainless steel carriage bolts. Use a clamp to hold the parts in position; the leg should be flush to the side’s front edge and 113⁄4″ up from the leg bottom to the bottom edge of the front crosspiece.
Cut the upper rear crosspiece’s inside curved edge at a 30° angle. Then return the band saw table to 0°, or square, and cut the round ends.
4) Durable – POLYWOOD survived Hurricane Sandy! Yes, my friend’s good friend couldn’t believe they were still looking good as new after Sandy devastated their beach house.
Cut both chair side pieces at the same time by nailing them together in a waste section of wood. Band saw to the template line then sand the edges smooth.

The hardware necessary to assemble the Adirondack chair is usually fairly minimal, and is often included in Adirondack chair kits. The purchaser of the kit will need to invest in some tools if he or she does not already have the necessary equipment; a screwdriver or drill will most certainly be necessary to drive in screws, while other tools such as a hammer, saw, file, Allen wrench, and wood glue may or may not be necessary to complete construction of Adirondack chair kits. Some kits may require the purchaser to paint the finished product, or stain it, to protect it from moisture from rain or other weather. Is Amazon actually giving you the best price? This little known plugin reveals the answer.
Awesome info! Don’t need to run to the store and buy new give your old stuff a face lift with a few cans of spray paint. Just finished my Grandparents old metal framed chairs (60+ years old). They had MANY layers of paint on them. The sanding was the worst part. But now they are both shiny green and haven’t looked this good in years. Next step is the plastic lawn chairs. They are about 10 years old and need help. But that is just a spray can away. Reduce, reused, recycle!
The Lifetime 60064 CPVC Adirondack chair is a best-seller on Amazon.com and is positioned at an aggressive price point. In fact, we chose it as the best budget CPVC chair in our overall Adirondack chair buyer’s guide. It has some excellent features given its price, but it has a few downsides as well.
All screw holes should be pre-drilled for a couple reasons; to prevent splitting by drilling a pilot hole and to countersink sufficiently to accept a wood plug later. The plug not only helps the appearance of the chair, but will also add to the chair’s durability. We used a bit that drilled the hole and counterbored for the plug in the same operation.
Use three screws to attach the arm to the leg and arm bracket. Carefully position the arm for a 3⁄4″ overhang of the leg. Use a spacer to help position it. The arm overhangs the front edge of the leg 1-1⁄8″.
Each one of these chairs is incredibly stable when you sit on them. They are also very expensive because of how they are usually built regarding their material, sturdiness, and durability.
Assembly of these chairs is pretty simple and will take about 30 minutes if you use a power drill and are somewhat familiar with furniture assembly. The instructions are well made.
For the past few years, we have had a pair of Adirondack chairs in the yard. They are made of teak I believe and have become very wobbly and rickety over time. Last Spring they looked like this:
