Adirondack chairs are made to last a lifetime; many of them are made of wood or recycled plastic. Modern development has made recycled plastics more durable and sturdy for outdoor use.

Absolutely! You can spray paint wicker, but be sure to clean (and dry) very thoroughly and then use a multi-material primer layer. I painted mine white so the white primer acted like a base coat anyway….
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. Top reviews Most recent Top reviews We've had a pair of these for five years, sitting out in the elements year-round with no protection whatsoever (though to be fair, this is Southern California elements, so it's mostly heat and sun, with occasional rain — no snow or ice). We just bought another pair, so we'd have a total of four. The first pair has held up so well over the past five years that it's almost impossible to tell which chairs are the new ones and which are the old ones, when sitting side-by-side. This is by far the most durable outdoor furniture I have ever owned. While I do like the chair, I think it is somewhat misleading to market it as a folding Adirondack chair when you have to disassemble it in order to fold it. Disappointed☹️ I ordered the Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange & Red Adirondack folding chairs. Blue & Green do Not match the same Arms as the others! No Front Overhang! When you get up they are Flush with the Front Legs! Not like this Picture!!! 1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 😔 By dennis m craig on July 15, 2018 Disappointed☹️ I ordered the Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange & Red Adirondack folding chairs. Blue & Green do Not match the same Arms as the others! No Front Overhang! When you get up they are Flush with the Front Legs! Not like this Picture!!! Even after reading the reviews on these chairs I was surprised when I got them. That is not a good thing! But I waited until the end of the summer to give my review, so I could use them for a while. I wish I would have gotten something else. Here is why:
These chairs are vey popular. They currently sell them on Costco’s website for $169.99. That’s $30 more per chair for shipping! Make sure to buy them in store if you see them. The reviews are also great too! They have a 4.5/5 star rating with over 500 reviews. The 1 benefit about buying online is that they come in 5 colors: White, Gray, Red, Black and Blue. They also sell the side table & footstool online. I have not seen those in store. I have to mention the 40 year warranty! They must really stand by their product! I have purchased 4 white chairs with the idea to paint the backs to look like a piano keyboard. I am a musician and if they turn out right, will donate the chairs as a silent auction item for the group I sing with. Have you ever done anything that specialized, and do you have suggestions about how to even begin?

Sorry to hear Jeffrey! Spare parts are cheap. It would be in their best interest to send you a few dollars in parts rather than return hundreds of dollars worth of chairs. Can I ask which part broke? Maybe there are others here that will be able to assist if we know exactly what part you need. Did you try calling & emailing them as well. Sometimes email works better
Wood is susceptible to damage from prolonged exposure to water and sunlight. The first step to protecting your wood adirondack chairs is a preventative step; always cover or store your chairs (in a dry place) when they are not in use. This will prevent any damage and cut down on your maintenance work.
Assembly of these chairs is pretty simple and will take about 30 minutes if you use a power drill and are somewhat familiar with furniture assembly. The instructions are well made.
This is a power tool challenge project where a few of my fellow bloggers and myself get together and create a project based on one theme. This months theme is Spring. We are building Adirondack chairs to welcome the warm weather of Spring. Each project must be created using at least one power tool. Make sure to check out these other projects. Links to each project are below the image.
