You may find it helpful to loosen the bolts in the pivot spacer to make unfolding the assembly easier. Next, attach the seat to the front legs using (2) 1 7/8" bolts, (2) 1/4" washers, and (2) 1/4" nylock nuts. Tighten with a 7/16" wrench and the provided 4mm T-handle hex key. For quicker assembly you can use a drill and a 4mm hex bit instead of the provided hex key. Finally, insert the adirondack pins into the seat of the chair. You can use a soft mallet to tap the pins into place. If you loosened the bolts in the pivot spacer before step 1, go ahead and tighten those at this time. The Adirondack chair itself was first conceived in 1903 by a man named Thomas Lee. He was working on outdoor chairs for his summer house in the Adirondacks, and built several prototypes for his family and friends, and called it the Westport plank chair.
Sorry to hear Jeffrey! Spare parts are cheap. It would be in their best interest to send you a few dollars in parts rather than return hundreds of dollars worth of chairs. Can I ask which part broke? Maybe there are others here that will be able to assist if we know exactly what part you need. Did you try calling & emailing them as well. Sometimes email works better
I’m glad you found them comfortable. It’s funny because I’ve seen them around for such a long time & never sat in one. When I finally did, I understood why they are so popular. Costco had the 3 piece set available online. I just checked right now & unfortunately it’s out of stock. It’s $140 off too. Only $399 for Adirondack 2 chairs and the table. It was item number 100381923. Summer is really kicking off early because all these outdoor products are selling fast. I’ll monitor Costco to see if they come back in store or online
Love it! I’d Natucket with you in your yard anytime. How much do you want for the creepy gnome?

Continue to add seat slats allowing 1⁄4” spacing between them and fasten each slat with one screw at each end. The final seat slat is the one with the curve, which nests into the curve of the back. Leave space between this slat and the back so water can easily run off.
Other than looking incredible, these chairs also give your back a lot of comforts. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors, then getting an Adirondack chair will be a great addition to your outdoor spaces. Moreover, it will add beauty to the outdoor spaces & make it even more charming and lively.
Dear Joanne: Plastic patio furniture can’t be recycled in your curbside recycle container: Its size and shape make it a likely culprit to jam traditional MRF machinery. However, your waste hauler may accept it, if they offer bulk-waste pick-up or drop-off, as the large items they collect will be handled on a more individual basis.
Love your idea and the color! Went out and bought the exact same color (satin lagoon). I scrubbed my 2 chairs with a brush and used the hose to rinse and let them dry for hours before painting. Ran out of paint before finishing my second chair. Had to wait about 2-3 weeks to finish a little bit of touch up on 1st chair (due to back problems). I waited at least 3 weeks before even thinking about sitting on it. I also kept it in the garage for several days to dry right after spraying it (so it wouldn’t get rained on). I used an old towel to dry off the raindrops and noticed blue paint! Now I’m afraid to let anyone sit on it. I didn’t use primer. Any suggestions?
Being in the Beach area of Toronto, Bear Chairs are not uncommon on front porches. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that certain areas of the city dictate landscaping and curb acceptability. What goes as acceptable in one area, may not be perceived as in good taste in another. So although “Bear Chairs” on porches in the Beach are the norm, I haven’t seen many in Leaside, North Toronto, or the West End. In our area, these chairs are quite common on verandas and porches.
O’K I want to be sitting there! I too have dreamed of set like that & having a croquet set near by helps finish the vision. To see the trees in bloom what a beautiful setting. A set of Adirondack Side Table/Chairs would look awesome in my new backyard next to the grill patio and screened in porch.
I have accepted that I am a person who buys cheap lawn umbrellas every season for $25-$35, because I WILL leave them out during a storm. And the expensive ones don't hold up any better when they blow sideways.
I’m looking for one of these chairs. Bought two in early March and someone put one together wrong and we can’t get the screws out. I’ve looked online but can’t seem to find “Leisure Line Adironadack” chair. There are many many Adirondack chairs online.
Durability – plastic chairs are made from colour-compounded materials which resist fading and discolouration from the sun.
