Mahogany: Mahogany rivals teak and oak for strength. It has a rich, dense grain and resists decay. It also has good scratch resistance, but it requires refinishing every year to stay that way.

You want all of your pieces to match as closely to the template as possible. And you may have cut a few pieces a little rough, or not exactly on the template so you will want to sand the edges smooth. To do this you can use a spindle sander. But I eventually gave up on that and sanded each piece one at a time, stopping periodically to compare them to one another. This is the oscillating spindle sander that I have HERE.
Selection – these days, plastic chairs are available in lots of different and vibrant colours, including a style that replicates natural, stained wood.
Oak: Durable and solid, oak is a popular wood for all types of furniture, and for good reason. It’s heavy, giving Adirondack chairs a solid feel, and it’s beautiful. The price is comparable to that of pine and cedar. However, maintenance is another matter. Direct sunlight can cause streaking or color changes. Oak chairs should be kept in the shade, and they will need a UV-protectant stain.
Assembly is simple: screw in the two bolts on the sides, and insert the pegs into the sides. Voila, Adirondack chair ready for sitting! To fold the chair up, remove the pegs and you’re done.
