Plastic Adirondack chairs will never need to be stained or waterproofed. However, they will need to be cleaned periodically. Be sure to avoid harsh solvents and abrasives that could scratch or harm the integrity of the plastic. .
Epoxy is good (jamie's suggestion) but if the chair is made of ABS plastic (which is a very common type of plastic) then you can "weld" it using pure acetone. Search "welding ABS with acetone" on YouTube for many examples of this.

The Highwood Hamilton line of Adirondack Chairs is comfortable, with a gracefully-sloping back and three reclining settings. The reclining settings don’t make a huge difference in the comfort of the chair, but they are better than having no reclining features!
Next the two front legs are attached using three, 1⁄4” by 2″-long carriage bolts. Clamp the legs in position before drilling. The correct position is 113⁄4” from the bottom of the leg to the bottom of the front crosspiece.
Getting out of an Adirondack chair isn’t as easy as getting out of a regular chair. However, this depends solely on the person, trying to get out of an Adirondack chair.
Drill 1⁄4″ holes through the side members and front leg to accept stainless steel carriage bolts. Use a clamp to hold the parts in position; the leg should be flush to the side’s front edge and 113⁄4″ up from the leg bottom to the bottom edge of the front crosspiece.

All screw holes should be pre-drilled for a couple reasons; to prevent splitting by drilling a pilot hole and to countersink sufficiently to accept a wood plug later. The plug not only helps the appearance of the chair, but will also add to the chair’s durability. We used a bit that drilled the hole and counterbored for the plug in the same operation.
