You post came at the perfect time, Kelly. We just had a new patio installed and I am in need of a few Adirondack chairs to go around my new fire pit! I will certainly look into Polywood! recycled furniture love: polywood - the handmade homethe handmade home says:
I could go for some Polywood in my backyard. This would definitely be a step up from the round robin of the seasonal dumpster special. Dreaming of real backyard furniture now. I share your husband’s vision quest. .

The sloped backrest is unique and makes daytime napping a breeze. It’s like a “permanent recliner!” Thanks to a smart design and supportive back rest, Adirondack chairs are the most comfortable types of outdoor seats you will find.
Hmmmm…. mine didn’t chip. Make sure you clean them really well and you may want to use a primer this time around just to be sure. Sorry to hear you had some trouble. That can be frustrating.

2) Portability and Size— From the other reviews I knew that these were not really portable even though they are called “folding”. I also knew that these weren’t the full size Adirondack chairs. However, I was surprised at how small they really are. My spouse is 6’5” so this is an issue. While he can sit in it, it is more uncomfortable for him. I should have gotten the full size even though it would have been more expensive.
It’s a well-known fact that Amish craftsmen (and craftswomen!) have made beautiful, durable furniture for centuries. What you may not know is that now, using modern composite materials, this fine tradition of craftsmanship continues with our beautiful outdoor poly furniture, built in the popular and timeless Adirondack style and the English Garden collection.
This is a power tool challenge project where a few of my fellow bloggers and myself get together and create a project based on one theme. This months theme is Spring. We are building Adirondack chairs to welcome the warm weather of Spring. Each project must be created using at least one power tool. Make sure to check out these other projects. Links to each project are below the image.
Modern Designers now often construct these chairs out of poly-resin, and these chairs are quite high quality, maintenance free, and extremely resistant to the elements.
If the arrangement is to decide on a lightweight and agreeable choice, poly stumbles or solid reused plastic are decent decisions. It looks simply like wood with a characteristic completion and is mainstream with the cutting edge client.
It is important to note that all chairs on this list are durable and suitable for outdoor use. And this list is made base on the style and versatility of this chair and not by importance.

Costco used to sell a 2 pack of Adirondack chairs with the ottomans. They’re not available on Costco.com anymore. I think you’re best bet is to check Amazon for ottomans because I’m not sure Costco will be getting new products like this since we’re in the middle of summer. Hope that helps. Good luck
The verdict is that I would buy the polywood again. It is sturdy and durable. However, the design of the chair itself is not good. I ordered two of these and I had them put together in less than 45 minutes on my own! I am not handy at all so that should tell you something. They included a T handle hex key that is way better than those awful tools most companies put in their kits. Awesome chair and I couldn't be happier.
Oh Kelly that set is so cute! Perfect for our weather her in the PNW too. Wood just can’t stand the weather here. One day… I dream of a deep, comfy Adirondack chair all my own. I get why the hubs was so into it!
